A poem at Mōtsū-ji in Hiraizumi. The temple halls are gone; among the thick grass the foundation stones remain, with water pooled here and there. On the ground where Bashō wrote of the summer grasses, Santōka's eye settled on the rainwater in the hollows of the foundation stones.
