Santōka Alarm
日本語EN

a wind has risen over the grass too — the tofu must be cool by now

kusa ni mo kaze ga detekita tōfu mo hieta daro

1934–1936 · Toward the mountains, toward the water
Sōmokutō · Walking Mountains, Walking Waters (Sankō suikō)

Notes

Toward evening, a breeze begins to move across the grass. The tofu, sunk to keep in the water, should be chilled by now. With the wind and the tofu, supper is quietly ready — a small pleasure at the close of a hot day.
