Santōka Alarm
日本語EN

straw stack after straw stack how warm

warazuka warazuka to atatakashi

1937–1938 · Late years at Gochū-an
Sōmokutō · Persimmon Leaves (Kaki no ha)

Notes

In the harvested paddies the straw stacks stand, one and then another. Bathed in the winter sun, the color of the straw looks warm to the eye. The repeated word is itself the very sight of straw stacks strung out one after another.
