Santōka Alarm
日本語EN

snow falling — one by one they go

yuki furu hitori hitori yuku

1932–1934 · At the Gochū hermitage
Sōmokutō · One Man Within (Gochū hitori)

Notes

Snow is falling, and through it they go, one, then another, one by one. The strangers he passes, and he himself, are each alike a single person in the snow. The short repeated words become the very rhythm of the ceaseless falling.
