Santōka Alarm
日本語EN

come from deep in the mountains carrying cocoons

yama no oku kara mayu oute kita

1925–1932 · Years of mendicant wandering
Sōmokutō · The Begging Bowl (Hachi no ko)

Notes

A person met on the mountain road carries cocoons on their back. Even deep in the hills there is human life, and the cocoons of raised silkworms are borne down like this to the villages. A single moment, glimpsed only in passing.
