my heart guileless, the rice has boiled over

The rice he was cooking has come bubbling to the boil. A logic beyond logic: because the heart is guileless the rice too cooks well. A small event in a solitary kitchen becomes, just so, a good omen for the whole day. A poem to hear before breakfast.
