Santōka Alarm
日本語EN

wanting to do something — though the grass blades sway

nantoka shitai kusa no ha no soyogedomo

1932–1934 · At the Gochū hermitage
Sōmokutō · One Man Within (Gochū hitori)

Notes

About his life, or about himself, he broods, wanting somehow to do something. Before his eyes the grass blades only sway. Beside a brooding human, the grass does not brood. That swaying seems almost to be an answer.
